Responsibilities:
Designs mechanical equipment, machinery, components, products for the mineral processing, Oil and Gas and construction industry
Develops specifications for manufacture, determining materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities and layout of plant or systems
Organises and manages project labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment
Establishes detailed programs for the coordination of project activities
Sets up work control systems to ensure that standards of performance, quality, cost and safety are met
Applies established technical and practical methods to the solution of well-defined engineering problems
Applies of systematic design processes to well-defined engineering problems
Able to use computer software such as Solidworks
Structural/Mechanical Design experience for the mining Industry.
Ability to produce detailed drawings to International standards.
Requirements:
Be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years of design engineering experience in a mineral processing & Oil and Gas
Membership or eligibility for Institution of Engineers
Ability to use the software – SolidWorks
Ability to perform calculations such as FEA or hand calculations
Ability to design to Australian standards
Experience in the design of mechanical equipment such as rotating equipment, chutes, fabrications and piping
Analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Commitment to safety and quality
Able to work unsupervised
