Responsibilities:
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and Government safety regulations pertaining to the worksite.
Supervise and monitor the day to day activities of the drilling crew which includes making sure they are motivated, working safely, and completing task in a timely manner.
Ensuring that all employees wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Conducting and supervising regular safety meetings.
Conduct and attend pre-tour meetings on a daily basis to make sure all goals and objectives are set for the current day.
Training of all the crew members.
Operate the brake handle
Inspect drilling rig and ensure that it meets compliance with all regulatory body standards.
The drilling rig should always be operated with safe well control practices in mind.
Keep a daily log on the daily well history that includes drilling rate, any problems encountered and downtime etc.
Maintain all company paperwork in a neat, timely and orderly fashion.
Update the rig manager on any unusual occurrence or changes in the hole condition that could effect productivity or compromise the crews safety.
Ensure that all company equipment is being operated for intended purposes and report any equipment abuse to Rig Manager.
Participate in any test to the equipment that is required through out the drilling process.
Maintain good safety practices and housekeeping.
Required to participate and help oversee rig out and rig up activities.
Be involved in, the identifying of safe and suitable duties for injured workers. To be involved in, the development, progress and return to work of injured workers, whilst complying with all aspects of privacy and confidentiality.
Injured workers will be managed in a fair and equitable manner having regard to their cultural and linguistic ability and level of literacy.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Engineering (Petroleum/Oil/Gas) or equivalent.
Preferably 1-4 Yrs Experienced Employees specializing in Engineering – Oil/Gas or equivalent. Job role in Drilling/Well Engineer or equivalent.
Physical strength and stamina.
The ability to work long hours and in extreme conditions.
Able to follow directions and company policies.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Strong leadership skills are required.
The Company primarily promotes experienced Derrickhand to this position.
New Hires will preferably possess current experience as a Driller on a land rig.
Male.
28 – 45 years old.
