Job Requirements:
- Completion of a patient care assistant course is desirable.
- Required to have a thorough and current knowledge in all aspects of Surgical/ Medical general nursing care, and have a demonstrated competency in these areas.
- Have three years of experience as a patient care assistant.
Task Description:
- Working under the direct supervision of the registered nurse, you will be required to adhere to all rules, regulations and policies.
- Assists nursing staff in providing direct patient care and will work as a member of the inter-professional team.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new Social Service Specialists/Patient Care Assistant under the direction of the Supervisor.
- Assists the registered nurse with invasive procedures.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality of patient records at all times.
- All work is performed on a 24/7 rotational assignment of 12 hour shifts, consisting of days and nights.
